Trebizond silk is a 3-ply cord made from pure silk.
It is 40% thicker than pearl silk; its thickness is between pearl cotton 3 and 5.
Aesthetically, it is a very round, very shiny thread with excellent coverage.
It can be used in embroidery, sewing, and tapestry (13 or 18 count canvas).

In Brittany, it can be found in Bigouden costume work and on shawls from northern Finistère and Trégor.
